Expressive was the beginning of my art; a series started my final semester at UCD in 2009. It was bigger, bolder, and more energetic than anything I had done before. With painting portraits of non-existent people, I could focus on the archetypal emotions as things all people could share and relate too.

This also marked the beginning of a looser style as I began giving more space for chance. I used recycled materials (cardboard, landscaping tarp, and house paints) for the history marred materials could contribute.
